Group leader

Understand what the group leader does before and after a group meeting.

Every group meeting needs a group leader. That person coordinates the practical parts of the meeting so the group can complete the activity without extra admin support.

What the group leader does

  1. Book the meeting. If the group is choosing its own time, the group leader selects the date and time.

  2. Share the meeting details. The group leader adds the meeting link when one is needed and, when booking happens in Knowly, can send calendar invitations to the group.

  3. Keep the group moving. The group leader makes sure the group knows when the meeting will happen and what needs to be done before it.

  4. Confirm the meeting afterward. After the session, the group leader confirms that the meeting took place and can add notes if the group documented takeaways. Those notes can later be reviewed by admins in the activity overview.

Choose or change the group leader

  • Knowly assigns a group leader when groups are created.

  • You can change the group leader later from the People area when you review the group designation.

  • All group members receive the activity, but the group leader gets the booking and confirmation responsibility.

Review the leader message before you send

  • Group leaders receive communication that is separate from the rest of the group.

  • Review those messages before you send the activity so the role is clear from the start.
