A dynamic list is a list that updates automatically from your active directory based on filters. This article explains what dynamic lists are, how they work, and where you use them in Knowly.
Availability
Dynamic lists are available for Enterprise organizations with SCIM directory sync enabled.
If the Dynamic List option is locked with a Requires SCIM integration or Enterprise badge, your organization does not have access yet.

How dynamic lists work
A dynamic list has two parts:
a name that helps you recognize the list
one or more filters that decide which directory users should be on the list
Knowly keeps the list up to date based on those filters. You do not add or remove members by hand.
When a dynamic list is useful
When the audience should stay up to date automatically. If someone starts matching the filters, they are added. If they stop matching, they are removed.
When the same audience should be reusable in more than one flow. Dynamic lists work for both cohort and individual learning journeys.
When you want to combine enrollment with automatic manager assignment. A learning journey connected to a dynamic list can also use directory data to assign managers automatically.
Filters are locked after creation
Once a dynamic list is created, its filters cannot be changed. You can still rename the list or delete it, but if the audience needs to change you create a new list with the new filters.
Why. This keeps the audience predictable. A list that is connected to a learning journey should not quietly start matching a different group of people.
Where dynamic lists are used
You can use a dynamic list when you want to:
connect participants to a cohort
create individual learning journeys for every user who matches the list
