In Knowly, lists are reusable groups of users. This article explains what lists are, the difference between static lists and dynamic lists, and when to use each one.
Availability
Static lists are available on all plans.
Dynamic lists are available for Enterprise organizations with SCIM directory sync enabled.
If the Dynamic List option is locked with an Enterprise badge or a Requires SCIM integration badge, your organization does not have access yet.
See If a feature is locked for what to check next.
Static lists
A static list is a manually curated group of users. You choose who is on the list and add or remove members by hand.
Static lists are best when the audience is small, temporary, or not based on directory data.
Dynamic lists
A dynamic list is built from filters against your active directory, for example departmentName is Sales or addressCountry is Sweden. Users who start matching the filters are added automatically. Users who stop matching are removed from the list.
Dynamic lists work well when the same audience should stay up to date over time. They let learning journeys follow changes in your organization without manual list maintenance.

Where to find lists
Open Lists from the organization menu in Knowly with Teams. There you can create new lists and review the lists your organization already uses.
