Creating an evaluation

How to create an Evaluation in Knowly: add Rating, NPS, Multiple choice, Open-ended, and Text block questions, mark them Required, set the name and interface language, and preview before launch.

Creating an Evaluation means building a short set of questions, deciding when participants receive it, and checking it as a participant before it goes out. Start from what you want to learn, then add only the questions that answer it.

Add your questions

Add a question and choose its type for each thing you want to ask:

  • Rating for a scale — confidence, satisfaction, agreement

  • NPS for the 0–10 recommendation score

  • Multiple choice for a set of options to pick from

  • Open-ended for a free-text answer in the participant's own words

Add a Text block wherever you want to introduce a section or add context — it's text participants read, not a question they answer.

Turn on Required for any question participants shouldn't be able to skip. Keep the list short; tips for effective evaluations covers why fewer, clearer questions get better answers.

Name it and set the language

Under Evaluation settings, give it a clear Evaluation name so you'll recognize it later in your results. Set the Interface language to the language participants should see the Evaluation in.

Decide when participants receive it

When the Evaluation is part of a learning journey, you set when it opens and any deadline reminders as part of the journey's schedule — often at the end of a session or programme, while the experience is still fresh.

Preview before you launch

Preview the Evaluation as a participant and answer it end to end. That's the quickest way to catch a confusing question, a missing option, or wording that doesn't match the rest of the journey — before anyone receives it.

Answers come in anonymously, so write questions people can answer honestly.
