Evaluation results show what participants answered in an evaluation. Use them to understand reactions, compare patterns, and decide what needs to happen after the learning journey.
Evaluations can be part of a learning journey or stand alone, depending on how your organization uses Knowly.
Evaluation answers are anonymous
Evaluation responses are saved without a link to the participant who submitted them. There's no setting to make an evaluation non-anonymous — it's how the activity type works. You'll see what people answered, but not who said what.
If you need to know which participant gave which answer, use a Micro training or Knowledge test instead. Those activity types attribute each response to the participant who submitted it.
Open the evaluation results
Open the Evaluation and click Analyze to see the results. You'll get a Summary tab that rolls up every question — averages and distributions for the scale questions, the spread of choices for multiple choice, and the full list of written answers — and a Responses tab that shows one submission at a time.
Inside a learning journey, the same results sit in the activity's engagement view, where you can switch between a Question breakdown (every answer to one question together) and a Respondent breakdown (every answer from one submission together). The Respondent view is still anonymous — each submission is labelled only by the date and time it came in, never by name.
Start with the summary to understand the overall pattern, then open individual questions or responses when you need more detail.
Read quantitative and written answers together
Numbers can show the direction, but written answers often explain why participants answered that way.
When you review results, look at:
rating or scale questions for broad patterns
multiple choice answers for common choices
written answers for examples, blockers, and suggestions
response count so you know how much weight to give the pattern
If only a small number of participants answered, treat the result as a signal to explore rather than a final conclusion.
Decide what to share
Before you share evaluation results, decide who needs which level of detail. Some stakeholders only need a short summary; others need the full set of answers.
To share selected results with someone who doesn't work in Knowly, use an online report — a link you can open or close whenever you need. If you need the raw answers for your own analysis, generate an Excel report instead.
Keep participant context in mind
Even though answers are anonymous, evaluation results can still include sensitive comments about work, managers, teams, or a learning experience. Share only what is useful for the follow-up work, and avoid spreading comments more broadly than needed when they could be guessed back to a specific person.
