If a scheduled activity shouldn't go out as planned, you can move it to a new date or stop it before it's sent. The key question is whether it has already reached anyone — an activity that's still scheduled is easy to change, while one that's already been sent is live communication.
Change or stop an activity before it's sent
In a cohort learning journey, a scheduled activity shows in the journey as Scheduled with notification or Scheduled without notification, along with its date. From there you have two actions:
Change scheduling — move the activity to a different date or time.
Clear scheduling — un-schedule it. The activity goes back to Not scheduled and won't be sent until you schedule it again.
Clearing a schedule is silent: it stops the send but doesn't tell anyone. So it's the right move when you caught something before participants were expecting the activity.
Individual learning journeys
In an individual learning journey, each participant has their own timing, so you change it per person from their schedule. Use Change scheduling to move a single participant's activity, or Revert to default schedule to drop a one-off change and put them back on the journey's standard timing.
If participants were already expecting it
Because clearing a schedule doesn't notify anyone, send a direct message when people knew the activity was coming — especially if a session, deadline, or assignment has moved. See Direct messages.
What un-scheduling doesn't do
Un-scheduling a future activity doesn't undo work participants have already done in other activities, and it doesn't remove anything they've already received. If you need to know who has already acted, review engagement separately.
