Scheduling in individual learning journeys

Understand how scheduling works in individual learning journeys and how anchor dates create personal timelines.

Scheduling in an individual learning journey starts with one reusable setup. Each participant then gets their own personal timeline from the anchor date you set for them.

Build the reusable schedule

  • Add the activities that should be part of the journey.

  • Schedule each one relative to the anchor date instead of setting one shared calendar date.

  • You can schedule activities both before and after the anchor date.

  • The result is one standard structure that can be reused for every new participant.

Generate personal schedules from the anchor date

  • When you add a participant, you enter their anchor date.

  • Knowly uses that date to calculate when each activity should be sent or become available for that person.

  • That means the same learning journey can be reused even when participants start on different dates.

Common planning tips

  • Choose an anchor date that every participant will have, such as a first day at work.

  • Keep the early part of the journey focused and practical if the first activities happen close to the anchor date.

  • Use one-by-one adding, batch import, or self-registration depending on what your organization has access to.
