How to use individual learning journeys

Plan individual learning journeys around anchor dates, reusable schedules, and repeated enrollment.

Use individual learning journeys when people should complete the same journey, but not on the same dates.

Start with the anchor date

  • Choose one event that every participant will have, such as a contract signing date, a first day at work, or a certification start date.

  • Use that event as the anchor date for the learning journey.

  • Rename the anchor so it is easy to understand for admins, participants, and managers.

Build once and reuse the setup

  • Add the activities that should be part of the journey.

  • Schedule them relative to the anchor date instead of using fixed calendar dates.

  • This gives you one reusable structure that can be used again every time a new participant is added.

Add participants when the journey is ready

  • Add participants one by one, through batch import, or through self-registration if your organization has access to those options.

  • Each participant gets their own schedule based on their anchor date.

  • That is what makes individual learning journeys easier to run than manually scheduling every mailing for every person.

Good fit use cases

  • Pre-boarding and onboarding

  • Journeys that start when someone joins a role or program

  • Reusable journeys with the same structure for every participant
