You add video by placing a Video element in a micro training slide as you build it, then either pasting a link to a video hosted elsewhere or uploading your own file — so participants watch it right inside the activity. Video is a good fit when you want to explain a concept, show an example, or introduce a person.
Availability
Pasting a video link or embed code works on every plan.
Uploading your own video file is available on selected plans. Without it you can still add video by pasting a link — you just won't see the Upload video option.
Add a video element
On a micro training slide, use the plus (+) to add an element and choose Video under Content and layout. The video's settings open next to the slide — that's where you add the video and size it.
Two ways to add the video
Paste a link or embed code. Paste the URL of the video's page — YouTube, Vimeo, and other major providers work — or paste an embed code if your video host gives you one. This works on every plan.
Upload your own file. If your plan includes it, choose Upload video and pick an mp4 or mov file. Larger files upload fine; they just take a little longer to finish processing before the video is ready to play.
Size the player
Use Player size to control how large the video appears on the slide.
Check it plays for participants
Preview the slide as a participant before you launch. A video that plays for you can still be blocked for participants by network rules or sharing permissions, and a preview is the quickest way to catch that. If participants report playback problems, see Troubleshooting video playback in Knowly. For accepted formats and sizes, see File limits and accepted formats.
