Participants can be added before launch or while a learning journey is already running. You do it from the People page on the journey, and the best method depends on the journey type, audience size, and whether your organization uses lists.
Ways to add participants
Where these live on the People page depends on whether anyone's there yet. On a journey with no participants, the options sit as buttons in a card in the middle of the page. Once there are participants, use the Add more participants button in the top-right corner — it opens the same options in a menu. Either way, the choices are:
Add one by one — type each person in by hand. Good for a few people.
Import from Excel or CSV file — paste in many people at once. See Importing participants from Excel or CSV.
Add from list — pull people from a list or dynamic list you've connected. See How to connect a dynamic list to a learning journey.
Let people register themselves through a sign-up link, when the journey uses one. See Self-registration: share a link and let participants sign themselves up.
Before you add people
Check that each participant has the contact details the journey needs. Email-based journeys need email addresses, and SMS-based communication needs phone numbers.
After you add people
Review the schedule or invitation timing before you finish. In individual learning journeys, each participant may also need an anchor date.
If the journey has already launched, adding someone works a little differently — you choose how much of the journey they catch up on. See Adding a participant after launch.
