Sending a test of a learning journey before you publish

Send a test to review a learning journey before participants receive it, including sender details and employee-name variables.

Send a test when you want to review a learning journey before real participants receive it. A test helps you check content, sender details, links, personalization variables, and the first impression.

What to test

  • The invitation or activity message.

  • The sender name and sender address.

  • Links, media, and attached files.

  • How the content reads on desktop and mobile.

If a manager notification in an individual learning journey uses Employee first name or Employee full name, Send test also asks for a Preview employee name. Type any example name, such as Alex Johnson. Knowly uses it only in the test message; it does not choose a real employee or change who receives the test.

Who should receive the test

Send the test to someone who can review the journey with fresh eyes. If IT or communications owns sender setup, include them when email appearance matters.

Test is not publish

Sending a test does not launch the learning journey for participants. Publish separately when the setup is ready.
