A supporter in Classic Knowly with Coach Freddie helps a participant keep going after a training. When Coach Freddie is part of the follow-up, each participant can choose two supporters: often a manager, colleague, coach, friend, or another person they already have regular contact with.
The supporter role lasts for three weeks after the training. During that time, Freddie gives the supporter simple ways to help the participant turn their training goals and action plan into everyday progress.
What supporters help with
Supporters help participants keep using what they worked on in the training, even when everyday work starts competing for attention. A supporter does not need to become a trainer or spend a lot of time preparing. One good coaching question per week can go a long way.
Depending on the setup, a supporter may:
see selected updates from the participant
answer follow-up questions
give encouragement or practical help
take part in conversations connected to the training
help the participant remember planned activities
It is also completely fine to ask the participant directly: “How can I support you in the best possible way during these three weeks?”
How Freddie helps supporters
Each week, Freddie sends supporters tips and coaching questions by email. These suggestions are there to make it easier to show curiosity, ask useful follow-up questions, and help the participant keep their goal top of mind.
Supporters who want more structure can also use conversation guides, sometimes called conversation templates. A guide gives the supporter a simple template for a coaching conversation with the participant. In the supporter home, these guides appear alongside the coaching questions when they are available for the training.
What supporters can see
What a supporter can see depends on how the training was set up and what the participant has shared. Supporters do not automatically see everything about a participant, and the participant may choose whether to share parts of their action plan or reflections.
If you are unsure what is shared with a supporter, contact the person who invited you or your Knowly contact.
If a supporter link does not work
Supporter links are usually personal. If a supporter cannot open their link, ask them to use the latest email they received and the same email address the invitation was sent to.
If the link still does not work, contact Knowly with the supporter's email address, the participant's name, and the training name.
