Creating an individual learning journey works much like creating any learning journey in Knowly. The difference is scheduling: instead of fixed dates for everyone, each activity is timed relative to an anchor date, and every participant gets their own timeline from it.
Create the learning journey
Start a new learning journey.
Choose Individual as the type.
Give it a name and fill in the basic settings.
Name the anchor date
The anchor date is the personal reference point the whole schedule is built around — the one event every participant will have, like a first day at work or a contract signing date. In the editor it's labelled Scheduling anchor; use Rename to give it a name that matches your real event, such as "First day at work". That name is what you and your participants see throughout the journey. See Anchor dates in a learning journey.
Add and schedule the activities
Add the activities that should be part of the journey and finish each one's content. Then open scheduling for each activity and set when it should happen relative to the anchor date — for example 7 days before or 1 day after. You can place activities both before and after the anchor date.
It's worth building the structure and scheduling before you add people, so the journey is coherent from the very first participant. But you're not locked in — you can add activities later too (see below).
Add participants
Open the People area.
Add a participant with their contact details, or bring people in through import or self-registration if your plan includes them.
Set each participant's anchor date.
Knowly builds that person's personal schedule from their anchor date.

Adding activities after participants have joined
You can keep building after people are already in the journey. When you schedule a newly added activity, everyone already in the journey is included automatically, based on their own anchor date:
If the activity's point is still ahead of them, it's scheduled and they're notified at the right time.
If they're already past that point in their timeline, Knowly asks what to do: Send now so they get it right away, or publish it silently so it becomes available without a notification.
So adding an activity later doesn't skip your current participants — it just asks how to handle anyone who has already moved past that moment.
