Engagement reports: export answers and progress

Create engagement reports for a whole learning journey or one activity, and understand what the export includes.

Engagement reports let you download a snapshot of participant progress and answers from a learning journey. You can create a report for the whole journey or for one activity, depending on what you need to analyze or share.

The report export is for raw data. It is not a chart export or a designed presentation.

Choose the right report scope

Use a journey-wide report when you want a broad snapshot of the learning journey. Use an activity report when you want to focus on one activity and its answers.

The same report flow supports both scopes. Activity-level reports are not limited to micro trainings; you can use them for activity types such as micro trainings, assignments, knowledge tests, and evaluations when those activities have data to export.

What the report includes

The report can include participant progress and answers connected to the selected journey or activity. The exact columns depend on the activity type and what participants were asked to do.

For example, an activity with open questions can include participant answers. A completion-only activity may mostly show status and completion information.

What the report does not include

Engagement reports are scoped to the learning journey and the activity data inside it.

They do not export your full participant directory, and they do not create chart images from the visual statistics in Knowly. If you need charts, download the data and build the chart in your reporting tool.

Create and download a report

Open the engagement or report area for the learning journey, choose the report scope, and create the export. When the report is ready, download it from Knowly.

Large journeys can take longer to prepare. If the report is still being created, wait for it to finish instead of starting several exports for the same data.
